Community-Based Public Health
The CBPH program provides opportunities for students and faculty to become engaged with community-academic partnerships through community service learning, volunteer opportunities, internships, and funding for academic course development.
International Practice Programs
The Practice Office provides opportunities for students and faculty to engage in research and practice activities through the China Scholar Exchange Program.
Practice Plunge
The Practice Plunge is an opportunity for incoming SPH students to visit public health agencies and organizations during orientation week.
Practice Summit
The Practice Summit is an annual event that draws public health leaders in health departments throughout the state to SPH to network with faculty and students to discuss potential collaborations.
Public Health Action Support Team
PHAST is a student-driven group with a faculty advisor whose mission is to make public health practice opportunities more accessible to students. The main objective is to actively assist local and state health departments in meeting the demands of certain public health events, disasters and investigations.
Public Health Practice Internships
The Office of Public Health Practice sponsors a limited number of competitive, paid summer internships located in community-based organizations, local health departments and the Michigan Department of Community Health.
