Residency Program in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health

Application Information

Basic requirements for PMR admission include:

  • Admission to a SPH academic department: Environmental Health Sciences, Epidemiology, HBHE, HMP. Application information may be found at http://www.sph.umich.edu/students/prospective/apply/applications.html
  • Graduation from an accredited medical school (United States, accredited Canadian programs, or equivalent as outlined by ACGME)
  • Completion of at least one year of post-graduate medical training in an ACGME-approved clinical training program in the United States or Canada

Practicum year only

A 12-month practicum may be available to physicians who already hold an MPH degree. Priority is given to physicians who obtained their MPH from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.

To apply for a practicum-only residency, please fill out the application and forms below and submit them to the Preventive Medicine Residency Program Office:
