E. Yvonne Lewis, BBA, BS

E. Yvonne Lewis is Executive Director of Faith Access to Community Economic Development (FACED), which provides services to meet the comprehensive health needs--physical, mental and spiritual--of low-income residents of the city of Flint and Genesee County, Michigan. Yvonne Lewis has a rich history of working in community and faith-based organizations. Since 1990, she has assisted in establishing and coordinating programs and services to engage the faith community in community outreach and education activities. Yvonne has presented at state and national conferences. She speaks and provides consult regarding community engagement in research, with a focus on its relationship to addressing health disparities.

Ms. Lewis serves on coalitions, partnerships and committees at the local, state and national level. Her national involvement includes: co-founder and past chair of the National Community Committee of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Prevention Research Centers and past chair of the American Public Health Association Caucus on Public Health and the Faith Community. Yvonne has also served on the planning committee for national conferences such as the Chronic Disease Control and Prevention Conference. Ms. Lewis' state and local representation includes: past chair of the Community-Based Organization Partners (CBOP), board member of the Greater Flint Health Coalition, Genesee Health Plan, and the Michigan Cancer Consortium; past chair of the Michigan Multi-Cultural Network, and the Tobacco-Free Michigan Coalition.

Yvonne continues to seek opportunities to enhance collaboration between community/academia and public health practice with the faith community and the community at large.
